Current staff numbers in Germany
Of our total workforce of some 1,600 throughout the world, a good 1,000 are employed in Guentersthal - our main location. Guentersthal (near Velden) is situated among idyllic scenery in the valley of the River Pegnitz in Bavaria and can be reached by road via the A 9 autobahn (exit Hormersdorf, between Nuremberg and Bayreuth). The offices in Fuerth, formerly our main location, accommodate the Board and some 100 administrative staff. Wackersdorf (in the Bavarian Upper Palatinate) also has a staff of over 100 working mainly in production.

Trends in employee numbers

Employee qualifications
Over 80 percent of our employees have completed a vocational training course or are graduates. Some examples are given below:

  • Around 20 doctors of science (mostly chemists) work in our Research and Development departments.
  • Around 75 graduates (mostly scientists and business studies graduates) hold responsible posts in our production, maintenance or administrative departments.
  • Our production departments employ around 550 skilled workers and employees with additional qualifications (e.g. technicians and master craftsmen).
  • Our administrative departments employ about 150 staff with the appropriate vocational training and in some cases further training.

Fluctuation is very low and length of service correspondingly high, as many employees have been with ECKART ever since they joined the company as apprentices. On average, they have 14 years' experience with our products and production methods and have a thorough knowledge of the sector, our customers and our competitors. We know that this knowledge is of the utmost value to our company on a number of levels and in all our departments. We attach great importance to vocational training and further training in order to attract and retain staff.
